Raila Odinga the Lord of Democracy and politics
There have been all kinds of theories put forward to try and explain how Raila Odinga can so often have lost in presidential elections (1997, 2007 and 2013) and yet remain such a potent force on the national political stage.
One way to explain this is to consider the narratives he used to draw so many voters to his side. For in virtually every presidential election in which he was a candidate, Raila faced an enormous superiority in funds and resources in the opposing camp.
In 1997, Raila was one of the first-time candidates to try to create a strong regional vote bloc by vying for President. Among the others were Charity Ngilu (Ukambani) and Kijana Wamalwa (Western Kenya).
At that time, the dominant narrative was that each “big tribe” needed to have "our own party" and defeating President Daniel Moi at the ballot box was almost a secondary consideration.
And here we note that whereas Charity Ngilu has long lost the affection of the Ukambani masses, Raila still holds the Luo vote in the palm of his hand.
In 2007, Raila - having supported Mwai Kibaki in 2002 – now had a new narrative, and one that appealed to many voters well beyond his Luo-Nyanza stronghold.
This was that Kibaki's Central Kenya backyard had “eaten alone” in violation of what had been agreed on when virtually the whole nation had lined up behind the Kibaki candidacy to give Kenya's third President his historic landslide.
This narrative was to underwrite the “41-against-1” formula which was certainly very effective as a vote getter, but tragically also led to the post-election violence of 2008. It took the setting up of the grand coalition government to end the violence.
In the process, Raila rose to the newly created post of Prime Minister.
But he was by then more than just the PM. Many of his supporters considered him to be the president-in-waiting, and the man whose votes were stolen in broad daylight by the Central Kenya oligarchy.
Going into the 2013 general election, Raila initially had a huge lead in the polls. But this time, the more effective narrative actually came from the rival team when Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto argued that it was Raila who had “arranged with foreigners to take us to the ICC” to clear his path to the presidency.
This proved to be a potent enough narrative to deny Raila victory in that election.

Kuria we are sick of not you but the worm in your head
Controversial Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria allegedly wants the government to "assassinate" Cord leader Raila Odinga because he is a "threat to the nation".
Kuria made the remarks on Sunday at the thanksgiving rally of a vernacular station radio presenter held at the Safaricom indoor stadium, Kasarani.
A one and half minute video of the MP making the inciteful remarks immediately went viral on social media with Majority of Kenyans calling for his arrest.
“Nyumba ni murathikiriria? Nindiraheiruo wira nimukuona ta nguhota? Matige guitigira, Muthama, na Orengo na nyina moke othe. Ni mui gitumi ni kii? No matume kimudu, giuke na mucinga, Raila rii rithathi ya mutwe akue mauge ni nii.No emenyerere, ona bebe no arie, tutigutorio thinaine ni mundu umue. Na arie bebe tumuthike jumatatu iria inge, maikie mahiga wiki imue na Kenya ithii na mbere . Okoruo ni haro me kwenda niyo me kuona. Muire raila ona bebe no arie na thii ihore na tuthii na no menda thayu moke tuarie tuikare wega IEBC yenda guthii ithii okoruo tii uguo mathii ma kiumaga ”
Loosely translated to…” My people, I was appointed to speak with these people. Do you think I will deliver? They shouldn’t fear in fact let Orengo, Muthama and their mothers come. They want to stage a gunman tasked to kill Raila and then blame it on me. But he should be careful because he can still bite the bullet. We won’t be troubled by one person forever. He can as well bite the bullet and we bury him next Monday. His protesters will throw stones for just one week and life continues. If it’s war they want it’s what they’ll get. Tell Raila he can bite the bullet but if they want peace they should come and let us negotiate ”.
Kuria is currently facing three charges of incitement to violence, hate speech and fanning ethnic hatred.
He is accused of linking the Gikomba terrorist attack, which killed 10 in 2015, to members of the Luo community.
Meanwhile, police are investigating Bahati MP Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri utterances over the weekend that members of the "Luo community should leave Nakuru".
The MP spoke to a crowd after Cord leader Raila Odinga held a political rally in Nakuru on Saturday.
"The MP will be summoned for grilling," Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet said in a text message on Sunday.
The utterances believed to be hate speech were recorded on a video and audio clip that went viral on social media.

Seemingly luo youths are not the only idle youth...
Nakuru politicians have hired Mungiki to attack Raila. The youth are currently stoning the hotel where Raila is having a meeting (thought only Kisumu youth "Stone Investments). Arama, Kinuthia Mbugua and some MCAs are believed to have hired the goons.

Someone wise comments;
I heard one kikuyu bigot saying only idle poor luo youths allow themselves to be used by Raila. where did these busy rich kikuyu youths get the time to demonstrate? and by the way I don't
But antagonists and enemies of progress shall always be there:
"You are a biased idiot. When cord demonstrators and looters destroy property, you remain silent. When police prevent them from looting, you complain and criticize them. Now that some youths don't support what raila is planning you mention mungiki. Endelea kulamba matako ya baba"
Immature jubilee slaves and moles shall always show the world how stupid they are
And Nkaiserry

Why bar CORD from using uhuru park on wednesday??
I tend to think that the church is being used to blame CORD on the imminent chaos on Wednesday over the Uhuru Gardens.
How can a church hold prayers on a Wednesday??
How can a church decide to hold prayers on a public holiday which we are to be celebrating Madaraka day???
Bishop Mark Kariuki is the national overseer of Deliverance church, my church but i am defecting because of his unpatriotism.
Unpatriotism in a manner that he wants to engage CORD on an important day in the Kenyan calendar, a day when we are supposed to be having serenity.
Unpatriotic in a way of defying county boss Hon Kidero..
The church should not be in such secular feuds.
Prayers beyond boundaries rally should not and must not be held on Wednesday....
If its a must that they use Uhuru Park then it must not be on Madaraka day.
That is confusion and brewery of trouble...we all know who CORD supporters can be when provoked.....
Teargas on Madaraka Day wont be good, will it?

Moses Kuria has a jigger in his head
The Gatundu south MP Moses Kuria has just proven science wrong,he just proved human beings can live without brains
In a nutshell for those who don't know him.,,MOSES KURIA is a victim of thinking marasmus. He suffers from immense phobia of correct thinking,
He is a victim of medulla emaciation where the brain stubbornly refuses to work. Correctly.
How can an MP talk such nonsense on Facebook?
Moses Kuria's case is one to recommend a psychiatrist to confirm if his mind is really sound
